I just wanted to say thanks so much for being patient with me and bearing with this ‘dry spell’. I’m in the process of looking for a new house to accommodate me and the furbabies, so my lack of internet access has been greatly thwarting my attempts to get this blog back up and running. Things were looking optimistic for a while, but life happens, I guess.

Dodge|Pit Bull (possibly mixed)|Male|5-6 Weeks
As some of you know, we take in rescues on a fairly regular basis.
Mister Dodge, here, was found abandoned in a Wal*Mart parking lot, stuffed in a 10 gallon bucket, in a shopping cart on the far edge of the lot this afternoon. When he was picked up, it was about 80 degrees and the little guy was pretty badly dehydrated.
My sister has taken him in with her other pittie, Chevy, and her golden retriever, Maddison.
Chevy|4 months|Female|Boxer*Pit Bull Mix
This is Chevy (short for Chevrolet). She is a 4 month old Boxer- Pit Bull mix. She is very social, super sweet and verrrryy playful.
Unfortunately, a lot of the people at the dog park leash their dogs and leave once they see her. Why? Because they’re ignorant and can’t see past the vicious monster that the media has painted her out to be.
Because a few stupid people who’ve either intentionally trained their dogs to fight, or from simple lack of proper training and behavior correction, Pit Bulls have been given the reputation as ‘naturally aggressive, tenacious dogs with locking jaws and a hair trigger tendency to snap.’ This is absolutely UNTRUE. While a few pits have gone rogue, I’d like to point out that for every pit bull attack there are about a hundred dog attacks that go unmentioned by the media because they’re NOT by a Pit Bull.
In reality, Pit Bulls are a very sweet, clown-like, affectionate and loyal breed of dog. They’re very intelligent, determined, and strive to please their owners (traits coveted and abused by dog fighters which, coupled with their physique and jaw strength, make them excellent candidates for fighting dogs).
ALWAYS treat each dog on a case by case basis; no two dogs are the same, regardless of breed. Take some initiative and learn how to read a dog’s body language if you’re really that concerned about the safety of your dog in the presence with others.. don’t just discriminate any dog based on breed alone.
Alright guys, I need those of you who still follow to suggest some breeds that YOU want to see featured. I have a small list going of ‘left over’ suggestions from before, but I need more to fill the week.

I apologize for my absence, I can not begin to explain the events that lead up to my ‘disappearance,’ however I do hope that you’ll accept my apology and continue to support the DivineCanine blog as it gets back on its feet and posting regularly.
